About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manufacturing Operations Manager to join our team at Schwans Company. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our frozen pie factory in Stilwell, OK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Direct and assist managers and supervisors engaged in the daily operation of the production and maintenance departments.
  • Budgeting and Cost Control: Develop and control department spending at budgeted levels, maintain actual cost of goods at or below standard, and investigate ways to reduce scrap waste, out-of-specification, and contaminated ingredients.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor performance of the manufacturing facility using reports from Plant Management, Human Resources, and Food Safety Quality.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and/or compile operating reports for the Director of Manufacturing and follow up on opportunities for improvement with appropriate management in all operating areas.
  • Employee Management: Interview and hire employees, conduct performance evaluations, and manage employees including skills development, safety, housekeeping, policy administration, discipline, employee relations, cost control, and problem-solving.
  • Training and Development: Manage, train, and develop subordinates.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum 8 years of related experience.
  • Must possess management/direct leadership experience.
  • Prior experience in food manufacturing with exposure to USDA/FDA regulations strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and interpret a variety of instructions.
  • Ability to calculate financial figures and equipment performance.
  • Intermediate personal computer skills including MicroSoft Office.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees and upper management.
