We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manufacturing Director to join our team at Schwan's Company. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving the safety, strategy, and people leadership of our front-line associates, supervisors, and managers.
Key Responsibilities- Direct and assist managers and supervisors in the daily operation of production and maintenance departments.
- Develop and control department budgets to ensure spending is at or below budgeted levels.
- Investigate and implement ways to reduce scrap waste, out-of-specification products, and contaminated ingredients.
- Research and propose equipment and employee utilization for cost-effectiveness.
- Present proposals to the Director of Manufacturing and monitor performance of the manufacturing facility.
- Prepare and compile operating reports for the Director of Manufacturing and follow up on opportunities for improvement.
- Interview and hire employees, conduct performance evaluations, and manage employee relations.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- Minimum 8 years of related experience, including management/direct leadership experience.
- Prior experience in food manufacturing with exposure to USDA/FDA regulations is strongly preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and calculate financial figures.
- Intermediate personal computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees and upper management.
