POSITION SUMMARY:
This position plays a crucial role in supporting the mission of the YMCA, a prominent nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Under the supervision of the Teen Director, the 7th Grade Program Coordinator is tasked with leading program activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of participants, and creating an environment that encourages social interaction among peers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Proactively engage with teens to foster a welcoming and secure environment.
- Follow daily check-in and check-out procedures with participants.
- Facilitate smooth transitions between activities for participants.
- Collaborate with the Teen Department Lead to design and implement engaging program activities.
- Be familiar with and capable of executing emergency procedures.
- Promote gender and cultural diversity while effectively managing and monitoring programs.
- Interact with teens in a friendly, age-appropriate manner and communicate with parents as needed after consulting with the Teen Director.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, free from clutter and hazards.
- Report all incidents and accidents involving yourself, participants, guests, or other staff members.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Adhere to policies regarding boundaries with members, volunteers, staff, and participants.
- Attend mandatory Abuse Risk Management training and follow procedures for managing high-risk activities and supervising members and participants.
- Report any suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations, following mandated abuse reporting protocols.
- Ensure that unused rooms and closets remain locked and routinely monitor high-risk areas.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- A minimum of two years of experience working with teens and organizing activities.
- CPR/AED and First Aid Certification required or must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to follow directions and adhere to policies and procedures.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to lift and move program equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.

HOURLY PAY RATE: $16.13 - $17.50
WORK SCHEDULE:
- Monday to Friday: 4 PM to 6 PM
