Role Summary:
This position plays a crucial role in the implementation and support of departmental business systems. The individual will be responsible for defining and maintaining the configuration of complex systems to ensure they continually meet the operational needs of the department. This role serves as the primary liaison among end-users, vendors, and information services regarding business application system challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and define system configurations to align with departmental operational requirements, adapting existing systems as necessary to optimize performance.
- Document comprehensive business processes and application workflows. Assist in creating detailed specifications for program development.
- Establish and define the scope and objectives for system development and implementation. Act as a business expert to assist users in identifying their needs. Develop or modify procedures to address application issues, considering equipment capabilities and desired outcomes.
- Engage in organization-wide initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency and achieving institutional objectives.
- Participate in testing both existing and new systems to ensure proper functionality. Validate the processing of new releases and additional features within departmental systems. Analyze the implications of system updates and assist in the creation of test scripts.
- Prepare analytical materials for departmental and institutional planning and process enhancement. Identify opportunities for improvement through data analysis.
- Provide application and business process support to users. Analyze and interpret system issues, initiating appropriate corrective actions while coordinating with vendors and information services.
- Deliver training to users, sharing tips and techniques for effective system application usage. Coordinate training for new system implementations and assist with workflow adjustments.
Qualifications:
Education:
● Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems Management, Mathematics/Science, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience).
Experience:
● If holding a Bachelor's degree: One (1) year of progressively responsible experience with information systems.
● If holding an Associate's degree: Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience with information systems.
● If possessing a High School diploma or GED: Nine (9) years of progressively responsible experience with information systems.
