Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Environmental, Health, and Safety Management Team in the overall implementation and oversight of EHS processes.
  • Execute environmental, health, and safety initiatives that align with the organizational EHS management framework.
  • Establish and maintain systems aimed at ensuring compliance, reducing injuries, and enhancing environmental performance.
  • Guide and mentor line leaders regarding their EHS responsibilities.
  • Support and act as a resource for plant safety teams.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of federal, state, and local EHS regulations, identifying all applicable requirements for the organization.
  • Ensure adherence to all OSHA/EPA Federal and State Regulations and support compliance with ISO-14001/ISO-45001 certifications related to company operations.
  • Review internal EHS policies and practices, conducting hazard and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Develop, review, and deliver EHS-related training programs.
  • Lead investigations into EHS incidents, performing root cause analyses and tracking the closure of identified issues.
  • Demonstrate expertise in Environmental, Health, and Safety Management Systems.
  • Establish and maintain comprehensive Environmental, Health, and Safety documentation.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to remain current and proficient in the EHS field.
  • This position reports directly to the site General Manager and is a vital contributor to the EHS Steering Team.

Qualifications and Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant EHS regulations to ensure facility compliance with federal agencies (e.g., OSHA and EPA), local authorities, and safety regulatory standards.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental, health, and safety or a related field within a lean manufacturing setting.
  • Experience in safety and environmental regulatory compliance.
  • Familiarity with applicable federal, state, and related regulations and procedures.
  • Proven track record of success with a strong commitment to change and a relentless focus on execution.
