At DP Professionals, we are seeking a skilled Unix Server Operations Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Unix System Operations Team, you will play a crucial role in providing Unix infrastructure products and services built and maintained to customer-specific requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of server technologies and platforms, with advanced technical knowledge of server, communications, and related hardware and software. They will be proficient in server analysis, monitoring, and security utilities, and have excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to gather information, analyze data, and troubleshoot various server problems.

We offer a competitive salary of $90,000 per year, plus benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off. Our office is located in Columbia, SC, and we provide a hybrid work arrangement, with partial onsite work preferred.

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Unix Server Operations Engineer to provide operational support for our Unix Platform, which supports various business applications. The successful candidate will have at least 6 years of server or other job-related experience, with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze server workload, including traffic and utilization trends
  • Provide analytical support to team members throughout the development and implementation process
  • Test and verify servers and support peripherals to ensure they meet specifications and requirements
  • Confer with technical specialists and consult specifications to evaluate the interface between hardware and software
  • Ensure compliance with audit requirements and address vulnerabilities within audit-mandated time frames

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Advanced technical knowledge of server, communications, and related hardware and software
  • Strong understanding of technical problems and solutions in relation to the current and future business environment
  • Proficiency with server technologies and platforms
  • Excellent problem analysis of server systems
  • Ability to communicate technical issues with non-technical people
