Network Specialist Support Technologist

Our network specialist support technologist will play a crucial role in maintaining the County's local and wide area networks, ensuring seamless communication and efficient operations. This position requires a highly skilled professional with expertise in network systems, server administration, and technical duties.
About the RoleThis is a challenging opportunity for an experienced IT professional to join our team at Orangeburg County. As a network specialist support technologist, you will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and monitoring our network systems, as well as providing user support and training.
Key Responsibilities- Act as a resource on all aspects of the County's network systems and communication equipment.
- Respond to telephone calls, email, and personnel requests for technical support; document, track, and monitor the problem to ensure a timely resolution.
- SUPPORTS THE PHONE SYSTEM, MOBILE DATA COMMUNICATIONS, VOICEMAIL SYSTEM, EMAIL, WEB SERVER, PULL AND TERMINATE NETWORK CABLE FOR VOICE, DATA, PRINTERS, AND ROUTERS AS NEEDED.
- Installs new equipment, systems, programs, and software upgrades; interfaces computers to peripheral equipment; administers computer systems, usage, and programs.
- Evaluates, troubleshoots, diagnoses, and resolves computer hardware, software, network, related equipment, and communication connectivity problems.
- Monitors the status of the network to ensure that all devices are working properly.
- Installs, tests, and maintains network hardware and software; analyzes network utility and availability.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- An Associate's Degree or specialized courses/training equivalent to satisfactory completion of two years of college in network administration, server administration or closely related field.
- Four (4) years of experience in network and server administration, systems or closely related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Experience with Comptia Network and A+ preferred.
