The Emergency Department at Corewell Health is a vital community resource, recognized as a certified Primary Stroke Center and a Level IV Trauma Center. With 20 treatment areas, we address a wide range of medical and traumatic emergencies. Our interdisciplinary team works collaboratively to deliver compassionate, relationship-centered care to patients and their families. The department handles over 27,000 patient visits annually and is committed to excellence in patient experience and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will provide accountable and responsible nursing care as outlined by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and in accordance with Michigan state regulations. The role requires proficiency in the nursing process, which encompasses assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN will uphold professional performance standards set by the ANA, including ethical practice, cultural competence, effective communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality improvement, resource management, and environmental health. The goal is to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing is required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required within five years
  • Current Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license is mandatory
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 90 days
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is required within six months
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification is required within six months
  • Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification is required within one year
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification is required within one year
