About the Role

The Director of Performance Reporting and Analysis will be responsible for providing leadership and support in planning, developing, and implementing performance reports and analyses to improve student learning and facilitate efficient management of District resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain standard report formats for delivery of performance results to district and campus leadership, the Board of Trustees, and the public.
  • Support the School Leadership team in developing tools to facilitate the Campus Performance Review (CPR) and similar processes for campus leadership to develop and measure progress toward performance goals.
  • Design evaluation studies and apply evaluation results, performance data, and staffing and fiscal allocations to identify district priorities, connect interventions, and inform decisions for the instructional programs of the District.
  • Create and support the maintenance of dashboards and data visualizations to facilitate planning and decision-making including but not limited to school, grade level, and class enrollment for class leveling, student administrative placement decisions, and staffing decisions.
  • Support data collection, dashboarding, and visualization for district initiatives such as Quality Seats Analysis (QSA), Resilient Schools Support Program (RSSP), and The New Teacher Project (TNTP).
  • Facilitate the review of and approval process for requests to conduct research in the District.
  • Maintain and disseminate information about best practices supported by current educational research and evaluation.
  • Support School Choice and Innovation with technical needs related to applications for and letters of intent to return to choice schools and programs.
  • Serve on district planning committees to provide guidance and support for data collection and reporting for new and continuing initiatives.
  • Maintain contacts with application vendors as related to support of software systems used for performance reporting, data collection, and data visualizations.
  • Collaborate with district leadership to plan for and resolve complex data analysis and reporting issues and prioritize and deliver timely performance reports or dashboards.
  • Keep abreast of new developments in areas of performance reporting, data analysis, and enrollment projection to support district needs and initiatives.
  • Support data submission requirements for schools supported through the School Action Fund.
  • Perform such other duties and assume such other responsibilities as may, from time to time, be assigned.
Requirements
  • Masters Degree; Doctorate preferred
  • Valid Texas Professional Educator certification preferred
  • Knowledge of curriculum and instruction K-12
  • Knowledge of state assessment and accountability systems
  • Knowledge of relational database concepts such as fields, tables, joins, queries, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new software applications with minimum training or guidance
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability for continuous self-improvement
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of programs
  • Proficiency with Qualtrics
  • Proficiency in data visualization software programs such as or similar to Tableau or Power BI
  • Proficiency IBM SPSS Statistics and IBM SPSS Modeler, Alteryx or comparable statistical software programs a plus
  • Proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS mapping software and school enrollment projection procedures
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
  • Ability to transform data from a variety of sources and formats into data acceptable for analysis
  • Ability to synthesize information from multiple resources
  • Ability to understand the strengths, weaknesses, and limitation of given datasets or metrics
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to present data visually for a non-technical audience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Educational assessment and testing
  • Experience in applied statistics and data analysis using spreadsheets and other statistical software
  • Experience in data analysis and problem solving with large amounts of data
  • Experience with ArcGIS software a plus
  • Experience with enrollment projection a plus
  • Successful classroom teaching and administrative experience preferred
