About Aspire Indiana Health:
As a nonprofit organization, we provide a comprehensive range of "whole health" services, which encompass primary medical care, behavioral health, recovery services, and programs that address social determinants of health such as housing and employment. Our health centers serve individuals across various demographics in Central Indiana.
Role Summary:
The Pharmaceutical Care Technician will oversee the daily medication management processes and ensure the proper medication regimen for clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Educate clients on medication usage, potential side effects, and interactions to monitor.
- Administer injections and conduct TB testing.
- Process medication refill requests and prior authorizations.
- Measure and record vital signs and other health metrics.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and nursing staff regarding medication-related concerns and follow-ups.
- Maintain and update client medication records.
- Monitor clients for health issues pertinent to their care.
Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited program as a Medical Assistant (MA), Qualified Medication Aide (QMA), Pharmacy Technician, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Paramedic.
- Fundamental knowledge of pharmacology is essential.
- Prior clinical experience in a healthcare environment is highly desirable.
- Understanding of substance use disorders and their impact on individuals and families is preferred.
Certification Requirements:
- Must hold certification from an accredited certifying body (QMA, EMT, CNA, MA, Paramedic, Pharmacy Technician) in the State of Indiana, or be actively enrolled in a qualifying program within six months of employment.
Additional Requirements:
- Awareness of common safety hazards and the ability to maintain a secure work environment.
- Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Proficiency in utilizing Aspire's Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Flexibility in work schedule, including availability for weekends, holidays, evenings, and night shifts.
