Key Responsibilities:
As a Compounding Pharmacy Technician, you will work under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, responsible for measuring and compounding medications, maintaining patient records, and performing tasks as permitted by the State Board of Pharmacy.


It is essential to maintain your Pharmacy Technician Certification. If not certified, you must obtain state-approved certification within 12 months of employment.

You will assist in the training and orientation of new pharmacy staff.

Engagement with insurance and medical providers is crucial, as you will handle billing and follow-up as necessary.

Participation in an on-call rotation is required.

Accurate programming or verification of IV pump settings prior to delivery is part of your duties.

Successful completion of annual ACHC assessments regarding compounding standards is expected.


Under the Pharmacist's supervision, you will prepare prescriptions for filling, ensuring accuracy by checking compounding records, gathering necessary pharmaceuticals, and staging products for pharmacist verification.

You will also clean and calibrate compounding equipment according to manufacturer guidelines and policies.
Demonstrating proficiency in sterile compounding per strict USP 797 guidelines is essential. Staying updated on USP 797 guidelines is required.

Effective communication with patients regarding medication supplies and deliveries is part of your role.

Coordination of service continuation or discontinuation, processing refill prescriptions, and documenting in patient records are key tasks.

Utilizing both administrative and clinical knowledge, you will assist Pharmacists in providing medications and healthcare products to patients.

This position involves preparing IV medications and supplies for clients while maintaining a clean and organized pharmacy.


You will be responsible for executing all processes in the production of compounded sterile preparations, strictly adhering to USP 797 regulations and departmental Standard Operating Procedures.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.

State pharmacy technician licensure in the state of employment is necessary.

National certification must be obtained within 12 months of employment.

A minimum of six months of experience as a Compounding Pharmacy Technician in sterile IV compounding is preferred.

Strong customer service skills are essential.

Proficient math skills are required.

Excellent communication skills, flexibility, and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team are important.

Self-motivated with exceptional time management skills and the ability to work independently.

Familiarity with medical technology is beneficial.

Availability for full-time, regular daytime hours and on-call hours is expected.
