About the Role

Crown Equipment Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer in Test to join our team. As a key member of our testing team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing automated test frameworks, test cases, and writing code to improve the overall testability of hardware and software systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create automated test frameworks and design test cases to ensure product functionality and compliance with industry standards.
  • Develop test code, software applications, and tools necessary for testing and homologation of vehicle embedded systems and mobile wireless communication devices.
  • Collaborate with system developers for on-vehicle/target verification and validation tests to demonstrate compliance to industry standards.
  • Support supervisor with creation of project plans/schedules and provide status reports.
Requirements
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering; or Associate degree with 6 years specifically related experience.
  • 2 or more years of experience designing and developing embedded system software applications, using Real-time Operating Systems (FreeRTOS).
  • Proficient in C/C++ and good verbal and written communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to occasionally travel with overnight stays and reliable transportation to travel locally between company locations during scheduled workday.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5 or more years of experience writing software for connecting and communicating with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Cellular, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) and related user Graphical User Interfaces (GUI).
  • Experience with CAN bus communication protocols and tools including CANOpen, XCP, Vector CANape, and Vector CANalyzer.
  • Experience with on-chip debuggers, particularly Lauterbach Trace32.
  • Experience developing scripts with Python and knowledge of unit testing methodology (VectorCAST).
