Key Responsibilities:

As a pivotal member of the testing team, you will be responsible for developing automated testing frameworks, crafting and executing test cases, and enhancing the testability of both hardware and software systems to ensure compliance with product specifications and regulatory standards. This role involves close collaboration with hardware and software developers to validate the functionality of the device under evaluation.

  • Software Development and Design - Design and implement test scripts, software applications, and tools essential for the evaluation and certification of vehicle embedded systems and mobile wireless communication devices, with an emphasis on adherence to international standards, Functional Verification and Validation (V&V), Automated Testing Systems, Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT), and Durability Assessments.
  • Product Specification and Analysis - Develop automated testing frameworks, design and execute test cases, and write code to enhance the overall testability of hardware and software systems. Establish automated testing methodologies and tools for vehicle embedded systems and mobile wireless communication.
  • Testing and Product Support - Work alongside system developers to conduct on-vehicle/target verification and validation tests, ensuring compliance with industry standards. Collaborate with senior engineers to troubleshoot design issues and generate design documentation in accordance with internal guidelines.
  • Project Management - Assist the supervisor in creating project plans and timelines, while providing regular status updates. Offer technical support to fellow engineers and contribute to the formulation of production testing requirements.
  • Continuous Learning - Stay updated on advancements and relevant changes in software tools, processes, and technologies. Participate in training sessions, conferences, and meetings to explore new technological applications. Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering; or an Associate degree with 6 years of relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in designing and developing embedded system software applications, particularly with Real-time Operating Systems (FreeRTOS).
  • Proficiency in C/C++ programming languages.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with analytical and interpersonal abilities.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for work-related purposes.
  • Access to reliable transportation for local travel between company sites during work hours.
  • Capability to operate lift trucks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 or more years of experience in developing software for Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Cellular, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), and related Graphical User Interfaces (GUI).
  • Familiarity with CAN bus communication protocols and tools, including CANOpen, XCP, Vector CANape, and Vector CANalyzer.
  • Experience with on-chip debugging tools, particularly Lauterbach Trace32.
  • Proficiency in scripting with Python.
  • Understanding of unit testing methodologies (VectorCAST).
  • Knowledge of software architecture and state diagrams.
  • Experience with task management and version control systems, including Jira, Confluence, and Git.
