Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Customer Service Associate to join our team at Ollie's Bargain Outlet, Inc. As a key member of our store operations team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and supporting the overall success of our store.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and acknowledge every customer as they enter and exit the store, and as they approach the front end.
  • Accurately and efficiently operate the register, handling customer transactions and returns.
  • Approve refunds for other associates up to a specified dollar amount, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Assist with training new sales associates, providing guidance and support to ensure a smooth onboarding process.
  • Be knowledgeable of all promotions and advertisements, answering customer questions and supporting the sale of products.
  • Maintain a neat and organized front-end work area, ensuring a positive customer experience.
  • Assist with receiving the truck, pricing items, merchandising product, and recovering the store, ensuring a well-stocked and visually appealing store environment.
  • Communicate customer needs to team leaders when necessary, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the overall store, adhering to Ollie's high standards for cleanliness and organization.

Requirements

  • Minimum of six months retail experience in a mid-size to large retail service-oriented business preferred.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays on a regular basis.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, exercise sound judgment, and preserve confidentiality of information.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to organize and prioritize tasks and activities within strict timeframes and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of industry terms and processes, with outstanding interpersonal and listening skills.
  • Must have a positive attitude and the ability to interact well with customers and associates.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to push and pull up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, bend and twist frequently, and grip, reach, and pinch with arms and hands frequently.
  • Ability to squat, kneel, balance, and climb ladders occasionally.
  • Ability to see, hear, and speak regularly, and work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
