Fabrication Manager Job Description

The Fabrication Manager is a key member of the Viking Group team, responsible for overseeing all activities on the shop floor related to production and quality control. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills to ensure delivery schedules are met while controlling labor costs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the fabrication team to achieve production standards and ensure quality control measures are in place.
  • Collaborate with Branch Operations Manager to monitor production output and make adjustments as needed.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of production equipment and ensure compliance with safety and government standards.
  • Supervise employees and provide guidance on company policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with Customer Service and Warehouse to ensure on-time delivery and high customer satisfaction.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Troubleshoot fabrication issues and implement solutions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Manage resources and consumables to optimize production.
  • Provide coverage for additional responsibilities in the manager's absence.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing.
  • 4-year degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and lead continuous improvement projects.
  • Intermediate-level PC proficiency.
