Job Overview

The Supply Chain Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and managing logistics related to product deliveries. This role entails collaborating with internal teams and external partners, addressing shipping challenges, providing freight quotes, scheduling shipments, and preparing shipping documentation. The position also includes offering tracking updates, monitoring shipments, resolving delays, confirming deliveries, supporting account managers, and performing administrative tasks such as reviewing invoices, processing logistics claims, and assisting with order entry. Additional clerical responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate effectively with various internal departments and external partners to coordinate shipments.
  • Engage in hands-on problem-solving with carriers, third-party logistics providers, and clients.
  • Ensure products are prepared for shipment and that shipping dimensions are accurate.
  • Provide freight quotes, schedule shipments, create shipping documents, obtain Bills of Lading, and label packages appropriately.
  • Promptly enter critical data points and shipping information (Pro/Tracking Number, pickup date, etc.) into company systems.
  • Deliver shipment tracking information to customers, monitor freight shipments, investigate and resolve shipment delays, and confirm successful delivery (POD).
  • Work closely with Account Managers to provide timely updates on shipment inquiries.
  • Contribute actively to solutions and process enhancements within the scope of responsibilities.
  • Assist in documenting processes and best practices.
  • Review shipping invoices for accuracy, file damage claims, and process credit request adjustments.
  • Support customer order entry.
  • Perform general and clerical office tasks.
  • May undertake other job-related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education

  • B.A., B.S., or equivalent – preferred focus in logistics, supply chain management, business, or accounting.

Experience

  • One to three years of experience in logistics.

Skills

  • Proven experience and understanding of logistics concepts and terminology such as Parcel, LTL, PTL, TL, Class, Zone, Tariff, etc.
  • Proficient in PC applications, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), QuickBooks, and other web-based applications.
  • Excellent customer service and data entry capabilities.
  • Minimum typing speed of 25 WPM.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations accurately.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Capacity to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
