Job Summary:
The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all logistics activities across all facilities. This individual will collaborate closely with project managers, shop leaders, and carrier partners, while providing leadership to the logistics team. The Logistics Manager reports directly to the Director of Supply Chain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate Schedule Changes: Work closely with production leadership, facility shipping leads, and project managers to manage schedule changes in production and at the site, aiming to deliver the best possible customer experience while ensuring successful operations.
- Material Coordination: Collaborate with the production planning team and procurement to determine material requirements for each facility and timeline. Communicate these needs to storage yards and vendors, maintaining operational visibility.
- Feedback and Quotes: Provide feedback and cost estimates to the preconstruction and sales teams on project proposals, aiming to set the business up for success.
- Carrier Re-engagement: Reconnect with carrier partners upon project award to confirm schedules, pricing, expectations for success, execute purchase orders and finalize agreements.
- Project Coordination: Upon project award, coordinate with project managers to understand job and site-specific requirements and communicate these requirements to the logistics and operations teams.
- Carrier Performance Reviews: Partner with the Director of Supply Chain to conduct quarterly carrier performance reviews, providing constructive feedback to drive positive behaviors.
- Delivery Monitoring: Maintain a 14-30 day look-ahead schedule for jobsite deliveries.
- Financial Metrics: Track and provide financial metrics for cost-to-date and projected costs to complete across all logistics shipping cost codes.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
Requirements:
- High school diploma required, degree in supply chain, logistics, or other business-related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with logistics coordination.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen test and background check.
- Proficiency in electronic document reporting and control.
- The ability to work/lead small and large groups of people, both in person and remotely.
- Attention to communication, independent decision making, technical expertise, adaptability, strategic foresight.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Software.
- Tracking, monitoring, and sharing Metrics.
