Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our Neurology team at Akron Children's Hospital. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing clinical and administrative support to our patients and healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Prepare patients for examination, take and record vital signs, and perform phlebotomy as needed.
  2. Collect data that contributes to the assessment and evaluation of individualized care and needs of assigned patients.
  3. Collect, process, and submit laboratory specimens in accordance with policy and procedure.
  4. Communicate patient findings and pertinent information to the Provider and/or Licensed Nurse.
  5. Accurately and timely document care within the EPIC system.
  6. Perform point-of-service activities such as appointment scheduling, visit preparation, co-payment collection, and patient tracking as needed.
  7. Perform clinical duties that are department specific, such as POCT, hearing and vision screenings, and other procedures.
  8. Clean, stock, and prepare examination rooms.
  9. Develop and maintain positive relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.
  10. Follow safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients, families, and staff members.
Requirements
  1. High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  2. Completion of an approved Medical Assistant Program, EMT Program, or Paramedic Program required.
  3. Basic Life Support (BLS) training from the American Heart Association required.
  4. Medical Assistant certification preferred.
  5. No experience required.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position working Monday-Friday. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a positive attitude in a team-oriented setting.
