Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant/LPN to join our Family Medicine team. As a Medical Assistant/LPN Family Medicine Float, you will be responsible for providing top-notch patient care, preparing patients for exams, and assisting physicians with procedures. Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients for exams by obtaining vital signs, gathering and documenting pertinent health information, and updating patient records.
  • Assist physicians with procedures, such as pelvic exams, allergy scratch testing, EMG, cautery, colposcopy, and more.
  • Administer routine medications under physician orders or medical group-approved standing orders/protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare team members to ensure smooth clinic flow and patient satisfaction.
  • Perform basic and advanced clinical support tasks, such as laboratory procedures, phlebotomy, EKG, spirometry, and more, under clinical supervision.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest medical knowledge and skills to provide high-quality patient care.
Requirements:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 45 days.
  • GED or HS Equivalency Diploma.
  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in Medical Assistant, or 2 years of verifiable full-time experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 5 years.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop rapport and maintain positive relationships with patients, team members, and physicians.
  • Proficient computer skills, including keyboarding, navigation within a windows operating system, and use of electronic mail with exposure to electronic medical records systems.
Working Conditions:

This role requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, and reach above shoulders throughout the workday. You must also be able to lift 35 pounds without assistance and use patient handling equipment when necessary. You will be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, blood, and body fluids hazards on a frequent basis and will be required to wear protective clothing and equipment as needed.
