The Academic Affairs Director, Study Abroad at InsideHigherEd is responsible for maintaining the academic integrity of study abroad programs and ensuring academic opportunities for students overseas. This role involves working closely with faculty, chairs, and Deans to address academic needs, develop policies, and oversee academic issues at study abroad sites. The Academic Affairs Director also plays a key role in curriculum development, program evaluations, and strategic planning for the Study Abroad unit.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement academic policies for study abroad sites
- Oversee academic components of new programs and curriculum assessments
- Maintain summer study abroad programs and course offerings
- Contribute to strategic planning efforts for Study Abroad unit
Required Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree strongly preferred
- Minimum of five to seven years of experience in higher education
- Experience with curriculum development in an international context
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build partnerships
- Intermittent travel to study abroad sites required
