Position Overview

Healthcare Assistant

The Healthcare Assistant will collaborate with the medical professionals at Southern Indiana ENT to provide timely, precise, and empathetic care to patients. We are looking for skilled candidates who are eager to enhance their expertise in a distinctive and all-encompassing ENT healthcare environment. This is a full-time position with standard hours from 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday, and may require occasional travel.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES of a Healthcare Assistant

  • Assist Physicians in the assessment, management, documentation, and treatment of patients in an outpatient care environment.
  • Ensure efficient patient flow and perform essential tasks such as measuring vital signs, documenting chief complaints, reviewing medications, and conducting point-of-care tests.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination and treatment areas, including restocking supplies and sterilizing instruments.
  • Manage the Provider's Athena Inboxes effectively.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift items weighing up to 30 pounds is required.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS of a Healthcare Assistant

  • High School diploma or equivalent GED.
  • Current CPR Certification is mandatory.
  • A minimum of one year of experience as a Healthcare Assistant is required.
  • Familiarity with Athena software is preferred.
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant Program is advantageous.
  • At least two years of clinical experience is preferred.

SUPERVISORY ROLE

This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.

CERTIFICATIONS and LICENSES for a Healthcare Assistant

Preferred: Current Medical Assistant Certification from AAMA, AMT, NHA, or NCCT, or certification as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant.

All employees must possess a valid driver's license and provide proof of vaccination or an exemption.

COMPENSATION:

Hourly wage ranges from $18 to $20, depending on experience.
