Position Summary & Responsibilities
Position Summary:
The Policy Initiatives Senior Manager serves as the senior manager for the DHCF Policy Initiatives Team. This role oversees and trains team members in tasks related to program policy, research, and development. The Policy Initiatives Senior Manager directs and leads the team's work in all stages of Medicaid and CHIP program policy development, from research and planning to operational and implementation phases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify areas to implement policy and program collaboration and integration between all KDHE divisions and other state agencies.
- Assist in the design and implementation of strategies to track and evaluate program policy initiatives.
- Use key performance indicators to lead staff in linking program evaluation with ongoing policy planning and improvement.
Consultation and Collaboration:
The Policy Initiatives Senior Manager provides consultation to the Medicaid Governance Council and/or the DHCF executive team on the strategic direction and decisions regarding KanCare program policy initiatives, enhancements, and grant opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree
- Licensing & Certification: Valid Driver's License
- Minimum Qualifications: Three years of experience in planning, organizing, and directing the work of a department, program, or agency.
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, health care administration, or related field.
