About the Role

In Our Own Voices, Inc. (IOOV) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the needs of LGBTQ+ communities, with a focus on people of color. We are committed to promoting social justice and empowering marginalized communities to thrive.

The Community Engagement Specialist will work closely with our team to develop and implement effective outreach strategies, build relationships with community partners, and provide education and HIV and HCV testing services to WSW, YMSM, and TGNCNB individuals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Culturally competent outreach and education to WSW, YMSM, and TGNCNB individuals.
  • Provide HIV and HCV testing and counseling services.
  • Develop and distribute educational materials tailored to the needs of the target populations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one year of experience working with Transgender, Gender Non-conforming, and Non-Binary (TGNCNB) communities.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in the HIV field.
  • Minimum of one year of human services experience, including outreach, education, or case management.

Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
