Empowering LGBTQ+ Survivors Advocate

We are seeking an experienced Empowering LGBTQ+ Survivors Advocate to join our team.
The estimated salary for this role is $55,000 - $70,000 per annum, depending on experience.
About the RoleThis is a full-time position that requires the ability to work effectively with diverse staff, clients, and volunteers in a variety of settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Crisis Intervention and Support: Provide immediate crisis intervention and hotline counseling to clients, ensuring compassionate and effective support during their time of need.
- Housing Stability: Work with clients to secure and maintain safe, appropriate housing, providing guidance on available options and resources.
- Information and Referrals: Connect clients to general assistance, legal counseling, and advocacy services to meet their holistic needs.
- Grant Objectives and Outcomes: Ensure program grant objectives and outcomes are met, aligning with IOOV's mission and strategic goals.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field (MSW preferred).
- Paid experience in case management and counseling, with a focus on serving LGBTQ+ individuals.
- Direct experience working with domestic violence, sexual assault, or related issues.
- A strong commitment to advocating for LGBTQ+ people of color and addressing community-specific issues.
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Familiarity with social services and the court system.
