Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Optical Transceiver Design Engineer to join our team at Coherent Corp. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of optical transceivers for various applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of optical transceivers, including hardware and firmware design.
  • Conduct electrical and optical measurements of optical transceivers and create specification compliance reports.
  • Create firmware requirement documents and conduct RF simulation of high-speed signal communication links.
  • Lead the integration of optical, hardware, and firmware, debug, and troubleshoot optical transceivers.
  • Create drawings, BOMs, and ECOs to document design and interact with program managers, buyers, and suppliers to ensure designed parts are available in a timely manner.
  • Support resolving DFM issues and hold architectural, EVT, and DVT phase reviews.
Requirements
  • B.S. EE degree with 7 years of experience or M.S. EE degree with 5 years of experience required.
  • Strong analog circuit design skills and background in circuit theory, linear system theory, feedback, ICs, and high-speed RF fundamentals required.
  • Strong laboratory measurement skills and communication and presentation skills required.
  • Experience with high-density multiple-layer board design cycles and electronics CAD tools and electronic system modeling required.
  • Expertise in RF design using modeling tools such as CST or HFSS a plus, and understanding of microprocessors and real-time control firmware a plus.
