The Family Outreach Coordinator plays a pivotal role within the Family Services team at the Early Learning Resource Center (ELRC), focusing on effective outreach and engagement initiatives aimed at families.
This role is dedicated to assisting families in recognizing their early learning service preferences, promoting high-quality early childhood education (ECE), and facilitating the coordination of family support services and child transitions.
The Family Outreach Coordinator is tasked with culturally sensitive outreach to clients, ensuring case management prioritizes family choice, and establishing direct connections for families to additional regional services. This position collaborates closely with ELRC eligibility personnel to ensure seamless access to selected services.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Enhance community engagement through various ELRC communication channels (website, newsletters, etc.).
- Regularly gather and present family feedback to the Family Services team to inform communication strategies and improvements.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation for families assigned to the caseload through engagement activities.
- Promote early learning and family resources at community events and during direct family interactions, with a thorough understanding of available regional resources.
- Provide families with information on a wide range of support services, including but not limited to Child Care Works (CCW), Head Start, Early Head Start, Pre-K Counts, WIC, CHIP, Home Visiting, Early Intervention, Community Action Programs, Mental Health Services, and evidence-based parenting programs.
- Inform families about the Early Income Tax Credit and voter registration.
- Participate in ongoing training to stay updated on ELRC services, regional stakeholder resources, and organizational processes.
- Promote Early Intervention Technical Assistance (EITA) resources in community settings and during direct family interactions.
- Connect families with Resource and Referral Specialists and/or Intake and Eligibility Specialists based on their expressed needs.
- Foster relationships within the ELRC team and with community providers to encourage the selection of high-quality early learning programs.
- Advocate for Keystone STARS directly with families and assist them in utilizing COMPASS to identify and select preferred care while raising awareness of quality standards.
- Ensure all program requirements for assigned Family Services activities are met, responding promptly to inquiries, referrals, and assistance requests to maintain an efficient and customer-focused operation.
- Conduct all program processes accurately and in a timely manner, adhering to established timelines and ensuring compliance with regulations and best practices.
- Engage in continuous professional development to remain informed about ELRC policies and procedures, understand the resources available to families, and foster collaboration to enhance access to these resources.
- Prepare reports as necessary.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Skills:
Ability to assist clients, community members, and colleagues in problem-solving and achieving goals in a friendly and informed manner.
Proficiency in utilizing required databases, software, and technology relevant to the role.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience:
Experience in community engagement focused on families in urban settings.
Familiarity with early learning programs and needs-based services.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associate degree in social work, human services, administration, or a related field preferred.
