Position Overview: The Quality Inspector is responsible for conducting final inspections, in-process evaluations, and first article assessments. This role requires a thorough understanding of print specifications and inspection methodologies to support the manufacturing team while complying with the Quality Policy and AS 9100 standards. The position reports directly to the Quality Manager and receives daily guidance from the Inspection Supervisor.
We are pleased to offer a $3,500 sign-on bonus for this role, payable on the first scheduled payroll following the start of employment. Should you depart from the company for any reason within the first year, reimbursement of the sign-on bonus will be required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate strong understanding of blueprints and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T).
- Utilize inspection instruments, including micrometers, indicators, and comparators.
- Accurately complete all necessary documentation, including inspection reports.
- Produce mold casts to verify internal dimensions.
- Identify both dimensional and visual defects effectively.
- Comprehend customer specifications and requirements (PWA).
- Exhibit high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Conduct first article inspections, in-process evaluations, and final inspections with expertise.
- Possess extensive knowledge of aerospace specifications, particularly those related to Pratt and Whitney.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints.
- Familiarity with dimensional symbols.
- Ability to detect visual defects.
- Skilled in using micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, and both manual and DCC CMM.
- Knowledgeable in various measuring tools.
- Capable of collaborating effectively as a team member.
- Organized and detail-oriented.
- Adhere to document control procedures.
- Experienced in generating various inspection reports.
- General computer proficiency.
- Able to work independently without supervision.
