Job Overview

The DOE Engineering Director will be responsible for managing multiple projects, pursuing new opportunities, and developing relationships with the Department of Energy to provide engineering services and operational execution. This role requires a strong understanding of the regional team's technical capabilities and the needs of major clients to deliver engineering services and management.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and growth of engineering nuclear services with oversight of the engineering team.
  • Provide direction and leadership to manage a team of engineers and subconsultants, ensuring they are prepared to execute and deliver.
  • Identify DOE market potential, target opportunities, key partners and clients, bidding strategy, market risks, industry events, and targeted annual bid and award revenue.
  • Engage with key client decision-makers, teaming partners, and affiliate organizations to ensure constant client engagement.
  • Analyze market data to identify trends and opportunities in the market, providing input for strategic direction and possible expansion of design engineering services.
  • Coordinate with proposal managers and marketing managers and other functional areas to produce deliverables necessary to achieve capture goals.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related technical field with 20+ years of progressively complex experience in managing multidiscipline projects, engineering, and business development activities relevant to the nuclear market.
  • Preference given to candidates with a successful record of developing new business related to significant construction work on nuclear facilities.
  • Strong communication, leadership, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required to enable an effective interface with other departments, all levels of management, professional and support staff, customers, potential customers, and government representatives.
  • Candidate should have a thorough understanding of design engineering processes in nuclear facilities.
  • Must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident.
  • Must be able to travel at the demands of the clients and opportunity timelines necessary to achieve the desired capture results.
