Job Summary

We are seeking an Electrical Power Systems Engineer to join our team at Savannah River Nuclear Solutions. As an Electrical Power Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for performing a variety of engineering assignments for planning and overseeing development, design, test, installation, operation, and maintenance of diverse power distribution and facility equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform engineering assignments for planning and overseeing development, design, test, installation, operation, and maintenance of diverse power distribution and facility equipment and systems.
  • Develop and implement electrical power systems designs, including distribution systems, transformers, and switchgear.
  • Conduct load studies, arc flash analysis, and electrical system protection and coordination.
  • Develop and implement repair designs, system calibration, and installation plans for low and medium voltage systems.
  • Provide oversight, design, planning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of low and medium voltage systems infrastructure, including distribution cables, control systems, protective relaying, transformers, switchgear, substations, breakers, motor control centers, alarms, and overall system coordination.
  • Perform modeling and simulation for power systems and short circuit analysis using simulation software platforms.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience in electrical power systems design, development, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of electrical National Codes and Standards, such as NFPA 70/70E and IEEE.
  • Experience with power system analysis software, such as ETAP.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
