Job Responsibilities

The Medical Laboratory Scientist II plays a critical role in our laboratory team, performing routine and specialized tests to aid in disease diagnosis and treatment. Key responsibilities include:

  • Operating laboratory equipment and instruments to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
  • Evaluating and reporting patient results, utilizing independent judgment and established testing methods.
  • Conducting quality control procedures to maintain laboratory equipment and supplies.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of new procedures and instrumentation.
  • Training new employees and students in laboratory procedures and serving as a resource for less experienced staff.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 2 years of clinical experience in a moderate to high complexity testing environment.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology, or an Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field with required licensure/certification.
  • American Society for Clinical Pathology or National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel certification.

Work Schedule

This role requires a flexible schedule, including:

  • Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM (1-2 days per week).
  • Saturdays and Sundays, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Additional Requirements

This position may require occasional weekend and call-in shifts.
