Position Overview:

The Event Service Supervisor is responsible for orchestrating and managing the entire banquet operation to guarantee flawless execution and ensure guest satisfaction.

Compensation:

This position offers an hourly wage of $16 plus gratuities.

As Miami's premier entertainment destination, Jungle Island blends the beauty of the tropical environment with a diverse array of extraordinary animals from around the world. Evolving from its rich history, the current Jungle Island showcases unique attractions, including rare twin orangutans and an impressive collection of over 300 vibrant birds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and prepare banquet staff assignments and menus prior to events.
  • Conduct pre-event meetings with staff to ensure standards of appearance and hygiene are upheld; assign roles and review event orders.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef or event coordinator to confirm all details are meticulously planned and executed.
  • Ensure the availability of necessary china, glassware, silverware, linens, and other items for upcoming events, and secure requisitions for any items not in stock.
  • Inspect room setups before events and coordinate with the Executive Chef regarding food quantities and timing.
  • Oversee the proper handling and storage of all equipment post-use.
  • Conduct random evaluations during events to assess food quality and service standards.
  • Regularly review the banquet schedule for updates and special events.
  • Incorporate safe work practices in all job functions.
  • Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; or three to six months of relevant experience or training; or a combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English may be required for job performance.
  • Must meet state age requirements for serving alcoholic beverages.
