Event Coordinator Role Overview
Michaels Stores is seeking a skilled Event Coordinator to plan, coordinate, and facilitate events within our stores. As an Event Coordinator, you will provide a stress-free, fun, and engaging experience for guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate multiple events at once, including children's birthday parties and other craft classes or events.
- Demonstrate and instruct party participants in the completion of craft projects, perform face painting and other activities.
- Facilitate and implement party add-ons such as goody bags, balloons, etc.
- Communicate events with clients and store team members.
- Complete administrative tasks such as answering emails, making phone calls, and completing paperwork as needed.
- Adjust plans and events based on client's feedback and needs.
- Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events.
- Set up, break down, and clean before and after each event.
- Help customers shop, locate products, and provide them with solutions.
- Engage customers on benefits of Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards and complete enrollments.
- Educate customer on Voice of Customer (VOC) survey.
- Assist with Omni channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS).
- Participate in the truck un-load, stocking and planogram (POGs) processes.
- Perform Store in Stock Optimization (SISO) and AD set duties as assigned.
- Execute Company policies and standards.
- Project a positive image and serve as a role model for other Team Members.
- Cross trained in Custom Framing selling and production.
- Must have experience working with children and children's events.
- Must have organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and creative problem-solving skills.
Work Environment:
Some stock rooms may not be climate controlled; some outdoor work if assigned to retrieve shopping carts or while unloading trucks; work hours include nights, weekends, and early mornings.
