About the Role: Eversource Energy is seeking a skilled Senior DER Planning Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our distribution planning department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and reliable delivery of electricity to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain complex power flow models for distribution systems;
  • Analyze and assess proposed solutions for integrating distributed energy resources (DERs) into the grid;
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to determine planning needs and develop proposed plans;
  • Represent the company on industry-related committees and working groups;
  • Participate in the preparation of regional distribution and substation expansion studies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred;
  • 5+ years of experience in power system planning and analysis; EIT or Professional Engineer's License preferred;
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering concepts, including power generation, energy storage, reliability, load flow, and stability;
  • Proficiency in power system modeling and simulation software, including STORMS, eGIS, and C2;
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

Compensation and Benefits:

Eversource offers a competitive total rewards package, including an annual salary range of $122,000-$140,000, plus incentive opportunities. We also offer a comprehensive benefits program, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a 401(k) plan with company match.
