Role Overview
The Product Line Assistant Manager (Customs) plays a crucial role in executing cross-departmental go-to-market initiatives, overseeing everything from line plan support to product launch specifics. This position collaborates with senior leadership on pricing and margin strategies, communicates project details internally and externally, and aids in the creation of sales tools under the guidance of the Senior Product Line Manager. This role is particularly focused on product execution and deliverables for custom projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitates product reviews and line adoptions to optimize product assortments through collective decision-making.
- Coordinates project communications across departments in alignment with established timelines.
- Collects data to support style productivity and SKU efficiency metrics.
- Collaborates with Design and Product Operations teams to develop necessary product designs and graphic deliverables for various projects.
- Regularly liaises with Legal to review custom graphic artwork requests.
- Provides product pricing and margin recommendations in accordance with managerial guidance.
- Oversees all aspects of custom development from conception to order entry in partnership with sales leadership and key account teams.
- Continuously seeks innovative solutions to enhance departmental efficiency and effectiveness.
- Maintains confidentiality regarding sensitive matters.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Deep understanding of the licensed sports marketplace, translating insights into actionable commercial deliverables.
- Experience in managing product development processes.
- Fosters collaboration among cross-functional teams.
- Supports the development of product assortments based on analytical insights and market demands.
- Proactively manages change with urgency and determination.
- Communicates clearly and authentically, demonstrating appropriate actions.
- Effectively articulates ideas to external customers.
- Embodies the brand's values in all actions and decisions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); experience with SAP and PLM is preferred.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Product Development, Management, Planning, or a related field is preferred.
- Three to five years of experience in Product Development or Product Management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Familiarity with the sportswear and/or product industry is preferred.
- Experience with SAP and PLM is preferred.
Travel Requirement
- Minimal domestic travel (0-10%).
