We are seeking a skilled Technical Support Specialist to join our team at Custom Computer Specialists, Inc. in Hauppauge, Long Island. As a key member of our support staff, you will be responsible for providing top-notch technical assistance to our clients across the Northeast region.

Job Description

The successful candidate will have a strong background in IT support, with a focus on PC hardware and software, network connectivity, and Windows operating systems. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing desktop and user support via remote applications
  • Creating and updating tickets as needed, including escalation to senior staff when necessary
  • Acknowledging pre-configured alerts and performing troubleshooting steps to resolve issues
  • Basic network support, including load configuration, and basic installation of desktop OS and network connectivity
  • Configuring and troubleshooting desktop applications and upgrades
  • Performing installations, configurations, and troubleshooting of desktop computers, peripherals, and mobile devices
  • Troubleshooting hardware and software issues as required
  • Installing upgrades and resolving simple network connectivity issues
  • Integrating and troubleshooting network client operation problems
  • Physical network troubleshooting, including cable management
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a Help Desk or User Support environment
  • Strong technical background, including PC hardware/software, server hardware, latest operating systems, network connectivity, and communications
  • Knowledge of Windows 7 through Windows 10 and ability to install, integrate, and support these operating systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot SaaS-based applications
  • Familiarity with MS Office 365 and MS Office 2016/2013/2010/2007, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Administer Active Directory users and groups, including creation and troubleshooting GPOs
  • Strong knowledge of internetworking concepts, including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS
  • Ability to quickly learn and follow complex procedures
  • Excellent communication, customer service, time management, and organizational skills
  • Professional verbal communication skills and ability to write and document procedures
  • Customer-oriented, self-motivated, ambitious, and dedicated team player
Preferred Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in a technical or business field, or equivalent industry experience is preferred. Additionally, Microsoft Windows certification, A+, Network+, Security+ certifications, and industry certifications from manufacturers/vendors such as Microsoft, Apple, IBM, HP, and Cisco are highly desirable.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is $70,000-$85,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
