Position Overview

  • Floor Maintenance Specialist: Responsible for the comprehensive maintenance of both hard surfaces and carpets, including tasks such as dusting, wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, extraction, and bonneting in various areas including offices, resident rooms, corridors, lobbies, entrances, stairwells, and dining areas. Responsibilities also include collecting trash, recycling, and soiled linen, and ensuring proper disposal. Additional outdoor tasks may be assigned, including maintaining grounds.
  • Safety: Utilize protective gear for all relevant tasks. Ensure the safe and proper mixing and application of cleaning solutions while adhering to all safety protocols. Report any equipment or cleaning product needs or malfunctions to a supervisor promptly. Maintain established standards, safety, and quality guidelines. Follow infection control and universal precautions to ensure a sanitary environment at all times.
  • Punctuality: Consistent attendance and timely arrival are essential. Complete assigned cleaning areas according to schedule and respond promptly to the paging system.
  • Customer Interaction: Represent HCSG positively by following instructions and maintaining courteous and cooperative interactions with supervisors, co-workers, and client staff.
  • Resident Interaction: Engage in positive, pleasant, and tactful interactions with residents, staff, and facility guests.

Qualifications

  • Exhibit a positive attitude with the ability to follow both oral and written instructions and perform routine, repetitive tasks consistently.
  • After completing all necessary training, demonstrate leadership skills to fulfill responsibilities independently and safely.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Must be punctual and able to work as scheduled.
  • Compliance with COVID-19 Vaccination Policies as required by state, local, and/or customers.
  • Must be capable of lifting and carrying a maximum of 50 pounds, pushing/pulling a maximum of 50 pounds, and standing, sitting, bending, and walking for extended periods.
  • Must be able to perform routine, repetitive tasks continuously.
  • Must be able to work around food and cleaning products.
  • Must reside within the service area.
