This role is situated on the Trade Floor, necessitating all team members to be physically present from Monday to Friday. The position is exclusively available in Malvern, PA.

Essential Experience: Candidates must possess prior experience on the Trade Floor. The hiring manager is specifically seeking a Developer rather than a systems operations specialist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Our client manages retirement savings for millions globally. Portfolio managers overseeing over $5 Trillion in equity funds are among the most discerning and professional in the sector. They utilize a suite of top-tier tools that demand high-performance applications with precise data and timely portfolio holdings.
  • The operational team is tasked with ensuring software functionality, monitoring batch jobs, applications, business processes, and addressing client inquiries.
  • The selected candidate will provide production support on the Equity Trade Floor for portfolio management and trading teams, capital markets, security lending, data management, and investment records. Supported applications encompass a combination of proprietary and third-party software, SaaS solutions, modern AWS microservices, and traditional monolithic systems.
  • The ideal candidate will have a mix of business insight and technical expertise. Familiarity with the portfolio management and trading lifecycle is advantageous, along with the ability to diagnose both technical and business challenges.

Core Duties:

  • Deliver intermediate support for applications and databases, coordinating technical procedures to resolve production challenges after thorough evaluation.
  • Monitor production systems for alerts, outages, and issues, conducting root cause analysis to mitigate risks and implementing solutions for identified problems.
  • Ensure support requests are addressed within established service level agreements, providing updates and resolutions.
  • Document and update production support guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and provide recommendations, assisting in the implementation of changes.
  • Foster strong collaborative relationships with business partners.
  • Engage in special projects and undertake additional responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:

  • The ability to think critically and troubleshoot systematically is essential. While business knowledge can be taught, curiosity cannot. The ideal candidate should have a technical background, a desire to understand system inefficiencies, and a keen attention to detail.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant work experience, including at least one year in Information Technology.
  • An undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience is required, with a preference for degrees in Computer Science or Management Information Systems.
  • Familiarity with AWS development and operational requirements, along with AWS developer or architect certifications, is preferred.
