About the Role

Russell Tobin & Associates is seeking a highly skilled Senior Materials Developer to join our team. As a key member of our Materials Development team, you will play a critical role in driving product excellence through innovative materials solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement materials strategies to drive product innovation and excellence
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective material selection and palette management
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to ensure material solutions meet business and consumer needs
  • Present data and solutions clearly to inform decision-making
  • Partner with vendors and internal stakeholders to establish material needs and execute new material creation
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Materials, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years' professional experience in materials development, manufacturing, or engineering
  • Deep understanding of various material manufacturing processes
  • Demonstrated expertise in material types, including fibers, yarn, textile, leather, synthetic leather, components, or trims
  • Ability to translate lab testing results for end-use application
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and present data
  • Attention to detail, active follow-through, assertiveness, self-motivation, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid digital literacy with working knowledge of MS office software; material management systems experience preferred
