We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our team at Telemundo San Antonio. The successful candidate will be responsible for the technical day-to-day operation of the television station, managing the control room, live productions, and remote capabilities.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic planning and logistical support for upcoming events, special programs, and news coverage.
- Oversee the technical operation of the control room and studio technology, including Automated Production Control (APC) systems.
- Lead and coordinate electronic and digital news gathering operations, including video gathering, editing, remote broadcasts, and system maintenance.
- Manage the station's vehicle fleet and ensure necessary equipment is in place and in working order.
- Provide technical guidance to news gathering personnel, including photojournalists and other assigned staff.
- Support news operations and ensure successful delivery of services to internal client groups.
- Oversee staffing and supervisory duties, including hiring, scheduling, and mentoring of editors and work group members.
- Collaborate in the planning of the TV News operating and capital budgets.
- Manage large remote broadcasts, including breaking news and special events.
- Be available 24/7 for breaking news and disaster recovery scenarios.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- More than 3 years' experience with APC systems, ENG technologies, and news editing.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and have a driver's license.
- Willingness to work in the field in all types of weather conditions, varying work schedules, and to travel as part of assigned duties.
- Written and oral fluency in English and Spanish.
- Experience managing personnel and budgets.
- Strong news judgment in multi-media platforms.
- High level of experience in technical expertise across emerging multi-media platforms.
- Knowledgeable about FCC rules and laws pertaining to news broadcasting in multi-media platforms.
