Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Scott L Busch DO PA. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Obtain and update patient histories, current problem lists, allergies, and medication lists to ensure accurate and current data.
  • Obtain vitals, height and weight, temperature, pulse, BP, identify chief complaint, and update Review of System as needed.
  • Communicate professionally with patients, doctors, and healthcare staff.
  • Coordinate with providers and colleagues to complete and fulfill physician orders.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent and comprehensive patient documentation.
  • Process patient registration and coordinate chart preparation for upcoming visits.
  • Ensure reports from diagnostic tests are received and medication prior authorizations are fulfilled in a timely manner.
  • Screen telephone calls for providers, take accurate clinical messages, and answer patient questions within the limits of own knowledge and practice policy.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all patient medical records and information in a HIPAA-compliant manner.
Qualifications:
  • Certification as a medical assistant is preferred but not required.
  • Previous experience as a Medical Scribe or in a similar position is preferred but not required.
  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent at a minimum is required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and administrative processes.
  • Familiarity with information management programs, Microsoft Office, and other computer programs.
  • Ability to take detailed notes and accurate documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects or tasks and prioritize appropriately.
  • Highly organized with excellent time-management skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced situations and make sound decisions quickly.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and high level of compassion.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer and transcription skills.
  • Ability to adhere to strict confidentiality requirements.
