Network Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to join our team at Bandwidth. As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our global IP network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot network issues and implement solutions to ensure network stability
  • Support the evaluation, development, and testing of tools to strengthen our global IP Network
  • Research and implement designs for both data center and WAN network architectures
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as software updates, hardware upgrades, and system checks
  • Work directly with internal and external customers to ensure needs are identified, understood, and met effectively

Requirements:

  • 7 years experience in IP networking, including experience in working with service provider grade network equipment
  • Deep understanding and experience with OSPF, BGP, VXLAN/EVPN, Spanning Tree, MPLS, and IPSEC
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve network issues
  • Experience with Layers 1, 2, 3, and 4 of the OSI model, including hands on work in data center environments
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to function independently on tasks and project work
