Job Summary

As a key member of the Nutrition Services team at CAMC Health System, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient distribution and marking of menus, as well as accurately recording diet information on relevant forms. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and oversee the daily operations of the Nutrition Services Department, ensuring seamless processing and distribution of meals.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge regarding patient computer systems, diet modifications, and enteral formulas.
  • Process diet changes and special requests in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Supervise the assembly of tray lines, as assigned.
  • Distribute and mark menus according to established protocols.
  • Accurately record diet prescriptions and information on relevant forms.
  • Maintain a well-organized menu filing system.
  • Ensure adequate office supplies are maintained.
  • Conduct food counts and maintain accurate records.
  • Assist patients and customers with menu selections.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and monitoring of departmental performance improvement programs.
  • Attend inservices and educational programs, applying new procedures and techniques as necessary.
  • Complete all required documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain customer satisfaction surveys, meal rounds, and tray assessments.
  • Dispatch incoming messages (computer, phone, and/or pager) in a professional and timely manner.
  • Orient and train new employees as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

The ideal candidate will possess the knowledge and skills necessary to provide developmentally appropriate assessment, treatment, or care as defined by the department's identified patient ages. Specifically, the employee must be able to demonstrate competency in:

  • Ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs.
  • Knowledge of growth and development.
  • Understanding of the range of treatment needed by patients.

  • Maintain and document all applicable required information.
  • Demonstrate positive customer service and co-worker interactions.

  • Participate in continuous quality improvement activities.
  • Perform work in a cost-effective manner.
  • Perform work in accordance with all departmental pay practices and scheduling policies.
  • Follow organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
Experience

Months of related experience in office/clerical or food service setting. Substitution: Graduate of applicable technical school program may substitute for months of related experience. Relevant experience as determined by the manager can substitute for the High School Diploma or GED.
