Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Patient Transporter to join our team at Christus Health. As a Patient Transporter, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting patients within our healthcare facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport patients to and from various locations within the facility, including exam rooms, treatment areas, and patient rooms.
  • Operate wheelchairs, gurneys, and other medical equipment as needed.
  • Provide excellent patient care and communication, ensuring patients feel comfortable and secure during transport.
  • Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure smooth and efficient patient transport.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association required.
  • Ability to learn and operate medical equipment, including wheelchairs and gurneys.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in a medical environment.
  • Knowledge of patient care and transportation procedures.
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a healthcare environment with exposure to various body fluids, infections, and contagious diseases. Universal precautions must be taken at all times.

Physical Requirements

This position requires frequent standing, walking, and lifting/pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs. Manual dexterity is required for operating medical equipment.
