Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Manager Construction 3 to join our team within the Manager Construction Division in support of the Capital Projects Portfolio at the Los Alamos National Laboratory.

Key Responsibilities:

* Responsible for the successful completion of all activities related to the execution of assigned Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) projects.
* Contribute to the overall administration and technical direction, coordination, and direct line responsibilities for field construction.
* Maintain and ensure safety and security training, compliance, and make safety and security an integral part of every task.
* Participate in the resolution of problems involving staffing, material delivery, and contract/subcontract administration.
* Coordinate with Project Management, Design Engineering, Procurement, Project Controls and other functional departments and personnel in establishing and maintaining priorities to ensure the success of the project.

Requirements:

* Demonstrated knowledge of and successful experience in all aspects of project or program management work, including developing project plans; managing to scope, schedule, budget, documenting reports and change control actions.
* Thorough knowledge of all phases of construction operations, construction quality, subcontract management, construction technologies, and project management.
* Understanding of government compliance standards, environmental laws and requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience as a contractor for the Department of Energy (DOE) managing construction projects or functional portfolios.
* Experience working under nuclear quality standards (NQA-1, etc.).
* Knowledge of LANL operations, policies and procedures related to Construction Management combined with a knowledge of current LANL programs, operations, policies, and procedures.

This position is for a Term appointment. A full-time employee hired for a period of up to a maximum of 10 years. Depending on performance a Termed appointment employee could be converted into a regular appointment status, discretion with management. Additional Details

Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive Please note that this requirement applies only to citizens of the United States. Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Applicants selected will be subject to a federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance which requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon position, additional authorization to access nuclear weapons information may be required that may or may not be available to dual citizens depending upon the circumstances.

*Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.

Term position: Regular-status Laboratory employees applying for term-status positions may retain regular status with approval of the cognizant Principle Associate Director.

HRP: This position is subject to the requirements of the DOE Human Reliability Program as specified in 10 Code of Federal Regulation, Part 712, § These requirements include on-going drug and alcohol testing, as well as periodic medical and psychological evaluations.

426.2: This position is subject to DOE Order 426.2, Personnel Selection, Training, and Qualification Requirements for DOE Nuclear Facilities, which establishes entry-level requirements to ensure candidates selected for specific positions can successfully perform the requirements of the job.

Incentive Compensation Program: Position is eligible to participate in the Triad Incentive Compensation Program. You must be in an eligible position for a minimum of 3 months, before July 1st and remain in an eligible position as of the end of the fiscal year, September 30th. The annual distribution is prorated based on the number of months in the eligible position.
