Job Summary

The Regional Sales Representative - Alfalfa Seed and Traits is responsible for driving sales growth and increasing gross margin contribution of FGI brands with designated retailers and distributors in the region. This role requires a strong focus on planning, training, and selling up the value ladder.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sales Generation: Deliver industry-best customer experience through well-planned, meaningful face-to-face interaction with target accounts, growers, and dairies.
  • Market and Position FGI's Value Ladder: Grow trait conversion and business share by positioning FGI's value ladder.
  • Train Designated Accounts: Train designated accounts to position and sell FGI branded alfalfa seed and traits.
  • Regional Agronomic Support: Provide regional agronomic support to ensure successful sales efforts.
  • Strategy and Business Execution: Deliver on sales and activities goals, manage expenses to budget, and develop territory plans.
  • Seasonal Marketing Programs: Proactively communicate and execute seasonal marketing programs, initiatives, and offers with customers.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree preferred, preferably in Crop Science or a related field.
  • Experience: Successful sales experience in seed or crop inputs or marketing with customer contact.
  • Skills: Proven ability to interact well with customers, suppliers, employees, and management of all levels; ability to learn FGI alfalfa features and benefits; and demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft suite of products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SalesForce.com.
