Job OverviewThe L.S. Starrett Company is seeking an experienced Territory Sales Professional to manage our Illinois, Iowa, and Lake County, Indiana territories. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in territory management, new business development, and customer retention. The role requires a self-directed, results-oriented sales professional with technical aptitude, strong consultative sales skills, and the ability to qualify customer needs and develop new sales opportunities. The successful candidate will be responsible for optimizing existing distribution, increasing product market share, and developing new business opportunities in the automotive, electronics, aerospace, energy, construction, food packaging, medical, metal working, and manufacturing industries. The position requires 50% travel and limited overnights.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute a sales strategy to achieve territory sales goals
Build and maintain strong relationships with distributor channel partners and end-user customers
Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting, qualifying, and demonstrating The L.S. Starrett Company products and solutions
Provide technical support, problem resolution, and product recommendations to distributor partners and end-user customers
Collaborate with the sales team to share best practices and drive sales growth

Requirements
6-8 years of proven sales experience in a territory management, consultative-based sales role
Strong technical aptitude and consultative sales skills
Ability to qualify customer needs and develop new sales opportunities
Experience in territory management, new business development, and customer retention
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
