Job Title: Assembly Technician

About the Role:
  • Assemble components according to blueprints, routers, work orders, checklists, and specifications to build, assemble, and test parts and finished goods that meet quality standards in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Accurately complete assembly checklists.
  • Monitor stock bins in work area and report stock needs to Shop Floor Lead(s).
  • Ensure a safe and healthy work environment by following company standards and procedures.
  • Adhere to the Wabtec Code of Conduct.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Possess basic math skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Physical Demands:
  • Regularly required to hear, read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Stand and/or walk for 6 hours at a time, with minimal breaks.
  • Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds independently or up to 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Vision abilities include close and distance vision, color distinction, and observe small handwriting, labels, and components.
  • Operate forklift and overhead crane.
Work Environment:
  • Work on the production shop floor with varying temperatures and occasional exposure to fumes and minimal to moderate noise.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to work effectively unsupervised.
  • Strategic and creative thinking to analyze issues that may arise and create solutions.
  • Ability to respond positively to feedback and implement change in process and procedures as needed.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to understand and interpret drawings, BOMs and procedures.
