Job Title: Claims and Insurance Supervisor

Climate Pros is seeking a highly skilled Claims and Insurance Supervisor to oversee our liability claims, litigation, and comprehensive insurance program for all Climate Pros entities.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial insurance and claims, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership or team lead role, specifically focusing on construction or industrial liability claims.

The Claims and Insurance Supervisor will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing Workers Compensation, General Liability, and Auto Liability streams of commercial insurance programs
  • Efficiently handling claims, gathering data on claims for record keeping and loss forecasting purposes
  • Remaining apprised of the financial value of claims, coverage placement, and litigation management
  • Assisting as a primary handler of Auto Liability claims as workload requires
  • Developing KPIs associated with claims and claim specialist performance
  • Preparing and presenting reports and presentations on claims performance, risks, and financial outcomes to senior management
  • Monitoring insurance policy and industry changes and updates commensurate with organizational strategy and growth, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and minimize financial risk
  • Leading and mentoring a team of claims specialists and insurance coordinators, providing guidance, training, and performance management
  • Fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment to achieve goals and objectives
  • Participating in internal and external audits related to claims and insurance operations
  • Mitigating organization's exposure to risk by formulating, developing, and coordinating all claims-related activities, as well as resolving claims at the least possible cost through risk transfer techniques, where applicable
  • Partnering with stakeholders and leaders to provide Human Resource, Business Development, and Safety with advice and guidance concerning contractual risk transfer and other risk mitigation tactics
  • Liaising between insurance agencies, brokers, and law firms, with the risk and insurance teams throughout the entire lifespan of litigated cases to ensure each is brought to a suitable resolution
  • Assisting in the renewal process with Insurance Coordinator, Management, and Broker(s), including coverage, terms, conditions, endorsements, pricing, and rates
  • Oversight for post-loss reduction monitoring, such as salvage, subrogation, and rehabilitation
  • Management of RMIS platform and responsible for ensuring claims specialist workflow is achieved within the system

Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial insurance and claims, with a strong preference for candidates who have a background in risk management
  • At least 2 years should be in a leadership or team lead role, specifically focusing on construction or industrial liability claims
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or a related field is required. Equivalent experience in lieu of a degree will also be considered
  • Proficient in using computers and various software applications, including a strong command of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively identify and mitigate risks, ensuring that the company's interests are safeguarded
  • Highly detail-oriented and accurate, with a proven track record of meticulous record-keeping and data management
  • Prone to taking action and demonstrating professionalism in all aspects of the role, with a focus on achieving results
  • Cautious and vigilant in protecting the company's assets and interests, with a strong understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly and succinctly to a variety of stakeholders
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide a team, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment
