Job Title: Insurance Claims Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Insurance Claims Specialist to join our team at The Auto Club Group. As a Claims Specialist, you will be responsible for handling complex claims, reviewing policyholder benefits, and ensuring all possible recoveries are identified.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review assigned claims and contact insured and other affected parties
  • Set expectations for the remainder of the claim process and initiate documentation in the claim handling system
  • Complete complex coverage analysis and ensure all possible policyholder benefits are identified
  • Conduct thorough reviews of damages and determine the applicability of state law and other factors related to the claim
  • Approve payments for the appropriate parties and refer claims to other company units when necessary

Requirements:

  • Three years of experience in claims handling or equivalent training
  • Advanced knowledge of insurance laws and regulations, including the Essential Insurance Act (Michigan) and Fair Trade Practices Act
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and handle complex claims to the line Claim Handling Standards
