Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Veterinary Surgery Technician to join our team at Ethos Veterinary Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting our board-certified surgeons with various surgical procedures, including soft tissue, orthopedic, and laparoscopic surgeries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer medication and monitor patients during surgical procedures, including pre and post-op care and anesthesia recovery.
  • Facilitate patient care for outpatient appointments, including consults and rechecks.
  • Perform IV, IM, and SubQ injections, IV catheter placements, and advanced veterinary technician skills, such as arterial catheter placement and epidural administration.
  • Assist with all types of surgery, anesthesia, and other procedures as needed.
  • Participate in surgery team responsibilities, including setting up and turning over Operating Rooms, preparing exam rooms and instruments, and completing daily safety and cleaning duties.
  • Perform and assist with all aspects of animal restraint for exams and procedures.
  • Utilize Ezyvet and Smartflow for documentation of patient care.
  • Communicate with clients, including financial estimates and collecting payment.
  • Interface with and assist other departments within the hospital as needed.

Requirements:

  • Four years of work experience as a Veterinary Technician, with two years including surgery/anesthesia.
  • Registration in the state of Colorado as a Veterinary Technician or ability to become registered upon hire.
  • Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology.
  • Preferred qualifications include two years of Veterinary Technician work experience running anesthesia in a Specialty Hospital with board-certified surgeons.
